WFH or anywhere with the Acer Spin 3

The portable and lightweight Spin 3 lets you work from any place at any time. The 2-in-1 touchscreen convertible laptop allows you to work on-the-go with features such as a 16:10 taller display, long battery life and a built-in stylus.

Designed for the go getter

I’m a long time fan of Acer’s Spin notebook series having reviewed both the Spin 1 and Spin 5 devices. The Spin 3 notebook builds on that success and brings forth new features. With a 16:10 aspect ratio that boasts up to a WQXGA (2560×1600) multi-touch IPS display, it’s easy to create and share on this device. Like the Spin 5, it also features the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics for solid performance.

Spin 3 is thin, light and versatile weighing in at just 1.5kg. I was able to slide it into my laptop bag, a large purse and even my beach bag without feeling weighted down. With robust design elements like its Corning Gorilla Glass display and Active Stylus dock, I transported it without worrying that it or any attachments would get lost of broken.

To my surprise, the doc also doubles as a charging bay where 15 seconds of charge gives you 90 minutes of usage. The Active Stylus has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, which makes drawing and writing with it smooth – my kids really enjoyed that part.

It’s all about the hinge

The Spin 3 features a durable 360-degree hinge, which allows the device to be used in four different modes: laptop, tablet, tent and display. And, thanks to the 360-degree hinge audio is never a problem with dual speakers boasting DTS Audio and Acer TrueHarmony that remain front facing in every mode. I particularly benefitted from the 360-degree hinge, as I find myself giving presentations in less than formal environments these days. It was easy for me to share my screen using display and tent mode. It made quite the impression too.

Working on-the-go

Spin 3 has dual SSDs, a pair of USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 and Killer 1650 Wi-Fi. I tend to focus more on security with portable devices because you never know who you (or your device) may come in contact with. Locking down the Spin 3 using the embedded fingerprint scanner was super convenient. Cortana is another “nice to have” feature.

Spin 3 Offers up to 15 hours of battery life and charges in just 30 minutes – both features I can attest to. The device was fully charged and lasted the entire day, on standby mode with heavy use. Not having to travel with a charger makes it even more portable.

The Acer Spin 3 (SP313-51N) laptop is an extremely portable, feature packed device for professionals on-the-go. If you fancy switching up your work environment frequently to and getting things done efficiently, Spin 3 is an ideal choice. It will be available in EMEA in March 2021 starting at AED 2,499.
