Netflix Streams into the UAE: 3 Features to Use Now

Netflix launched its service globally, bringing its Internet TV network to more than 130 new countries around the world and the UAE is one of them. The platform launched in the region with limited content but that hasn’t stopped us from watching.  Netflix’s vice president for communications, Joris Evers, has said that the offering of shows in the UAE will grow significantly over the coming months, with Netflix titles such as The Crown, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Fuller House and more soon to be available. More viewing options means more time spent using the netflix usa app. Use these cool features to enhance your experience now…

You already know what it is. Welcome to the weekend. #NetflixAndChill #NetflixUAE #InAbuDhabi #TamTalksTech

Crazy Categories

You’d expect a movie streaming app to categorize content by separating comedies from dramas and series from movies but Netflix takes it a step further. In a move to make the app more user-friendly the platform has adopted categories that are a bit unconventional, yet more in line with public opinion. There is a difference between Comedies and Goofy Comedies and I appreciate Netfilx for keeping them separate.

Viewer Profiles

A single Netflix subscription can be accessed by more than one person. This is most likely the case for families. Instead of having to sift through the favorites, most recently watched shows and recommendations based on what my husband and children watch, I can create a profile that stores only my activity. They can have separate profiles too. Its seamless – just select your profile after logging in – and personalize your user experience.

Netflix is known for mobile, on-demand video but what about those times when you prefer to view on a larger screen; not to mention how terribly uncomfortable it can be for a group to watch on a computer or mobile device. The Netflix app allows flexible viewing options with integrated casting via Google Chrome, a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply tap the Cast button in the upper right corner, choose your program and press play.

A subscription to Netflix starts at 30 AED per month. Still not sure if you want to commit? You can register for a FREE one month trial but beware – Netflix is one of the most binge-worthy services around. Happy streaming!
