Microsoft Launches New Windows 10 Devices in the UAE

Microsoft Gulf staged two events in Dubai to roll out their highly anticipated lineup of Windows 10 devices. Set in the modern maize of Hai-D3 within the Dubai Design District, media were treated to hands-on demonstrations of Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The new devices include features like fast and secure login with Windows Hello, improved touch and pen experiences on Surface and Continuum for phones which enable the new smartphones to work like PCs. Here’s what impressed me the most about devices…

Surface Pro 4 is the thinnest, lightest and most powerful tablet designed to replace your laptop. It’s only 8.4 mm thin and features a stunning 12.3 inch Pixel Sense Display. The redesigned Surface Pen has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity that lets you write with precision ink on one end and an eraser on the other. You can check out full specs, here. Pricing for Surface Pro 4 ranges from AED 3,395 to AED 8,395 depending on chip, RAM and storage options.

Lumia 950 and 950 XL have retained the exceptional camera technology that the brand (formerly Nokia) is known for. Lumia 950 camera has a 20 MP sensor and triple LED natural flash. It’s powered by the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon processors to get things done faster. Both Lumia 950 and 950 XL feature Continuum for phones which extends the small screen to a large screen to support multitasking. Note here that the screen is extended and not mirrored so the phone can be connected to a keyboard and mouse to work like a PC with Windows 10 apps while simultaneously being used to take calls or perform other tasks. Sweet! You can access full specs, here. Lumia 950 will be available for AED 2,099 and Lumia 950 XL is AED 2,349. Accessories like the Microsoft Display Dock is AED 99 and the Continuum Accessory Pack is AED 499.
