Global Village has improved with the addition of Kids Fest, its first ever entertainment festival exclusively targeting children, which runs through February 22nd. When we first visited Global Village a couple of years back there wasn’t much for young children to do. This year, there’s a zone for kids that includes face painting, an inflatable obstacle course, streaming of the popular Emirati show Shabiat Al Cartoon and mini dance lessons.
My kids even got the chance to meet the Smurfs. How cool is that? Yours can too as Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy will be appearing at the Roman Amphitheatre for photo opportunities up to four times a day for 30-minute sessions. There are other improvements to the venue too, like better dining accommodations and a mix of traditional retail into the marketplace.
Global Village is expansive and there’s always a ton of things going on. To help you manage your visit, download the Global Village app which is available for both iOS and Android. With it you can shop, purchase tickets, check the event calendar and navigate using the location map. The new and improved Global Village is sure to be a treat for the whole family.
