Street Night Art Dubai 2014 was held this weekend in the Al Quoz Industrial zone. The event, which showcased artists from all genres, was a festive gathering of creative people. Street Night Art is just what the name implies; artists, taking to the street at night to showcase their talents. The street was lined with artists; Painters were on one side and spray painters on another. The center of the street was home to a pop-up art studio for visitors who wanted to create a little too. Everyone joined in the fun. It was refreshing to see children sitting alongside adults learning how to turn an otherwise boring white canvas into an interesting expression. From painters and illustrators to guitarists and singers, there was a platform for everyone who wished to participate. Event staffed walked the crowd with raised signs inviting guests to sign up for open mic.
The Street Night Art exhibition is part of the Al Quoz beautification project and its purpose was to showcase some fantastic works of art, while giving visitors the opportunity to meet with and talk to the artists and each other. VOSS water was a notable sponsor of the evening. Those minimal but stylish VOSS water bottles were everywhere. In many cases, the bottles themselves were artistic expressions. VOSS Arabia generously gave free water to all attendees and participants. VOSS Arabia also ran an Instagram contest for the most creative photo of VOSS water taken at the event. The lucky person will receive free delivery of VOSS water for one year! I submitted my photo with the tag #VOSSDXBSNA. Fingers crossed. It was a fresh and interesting way to spend a chilly Friday night. Check out some of my best shots from the night below.
