Get the Scoop on Season 2 of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Season 2 of the Netflix original series, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, premiers April 15, 2016. To celebrate its return, Netflix treated fans to a screening of the first two episodes at BAM Rose Cinema in Brooklyn, New York – the same burough where Kimmy settles after being rescued from the bunker. So what can we expect from Season 2? Cast members Tituss Burgess and Carol Kane stopped by to give us the scoop and now I’m going to give it to you!

L to R: Tituss Burgess (Titus), Tamara Clarke, Carol Kane (Lillian)

There’s a lot of romance in Season 2. Lillian has flashbacks to the man she murdered, Kimmy struggles with her love for Dong and Titus finds love too. The Pinot Noir singer, who admittedly does not have the song lyrics memorized, explained that, “Titus falls in love with this dude who’s nothing like what he would’ve chosen and it’s all because of Kimmy. It grounds him in a way and makes him much more palatable.” The new season is also littered with music. Titus and Lillian will belt out an epic duet and Kimmy sings a few songs too, putting Jeff Richmond, who composes all of the show’s music in the hot seat. Will we get a tune as magically delicious as Pinot Noir? Let’s hope so. Perhaps the biggest reveal is regarding Tina Fey. I’m told that, “she is really big time on the show playing a different role where she’s very involved with Kimmy”. Now how in the world will I keep myself from binge watching the entire season on the first day it airs – oh, I’ve got kids. Not possible.

Packed house at BAM for the Season 2 Sneak Peek

As a part of the premier experience, Netflix arranged a city tour – a way for us to see New York through Kimmy’s eyes. Here are some highlights from the day which included a posh French breakfast (with real smartphones and laptops), a trek through Times Square, The Empire State Building and a visit to Dylan’s Candy Bar. Sweet!
