The American University School (AUS), Kuwait’s newest Pre-K through 12th grade school announced it will be the first school in the country to equip all students with ThinkPad Tablet 2 from Lenovo, the world’s No.1 PC provider.

This ground breaking offer to all AUS students depicts the level of significance AUS places on the infusion of technology into and across the curriculum. Students learn differently today than years ago when courses offered used just workbooks and chalkboards, they are much more visual. American University School views technology as a valuable tool to accomplish its educational vision and mission. The comprehensive, school-wide technological infrastructure plan is aimed at ensuring that students receive instruction using the latest and newest technological learning tools.

With the opening of the school in September, all students will receive a Lenovo Touch ThinkPad Tablet 2, featuring a 10 hour battery life, weighing less than 600 grams, and is 10.1 inches and .34 inches thick. The tablet includes Windows 8 and Windows 8 applications and offers five-finger multi-touch technologies. A full size USB port enables students to connect to a variety of external devices in addition to wireless accessed devices. Students will also receive a case and a dockable keyboard.

“Lenovo was not a difficult choice,” says Dr. Jennifer Beckwith, the school’s Director “Once you weigh the support offered in Kuwait by Lenovo, the three-year accidental damage warranty coupled with the functionality of the cutting edge tablet offerings. We have selected the right technology for our students that work within our campus wireless environment and meet the essential necessities within the classroom for our students.”

“After reviewing and comparing many products from different providers for ease of use, size, weight, functionality, warranty, local support, price and adaptability with other selected AUS systems, the Lenovo Touch ThinkPad Tablet 2 was the best product. This was my recommendation to AUS,” says Rusty Bruns, AUS Technology Consultant.

Mohammed Hilili, Lenovo Gulf General Manager, added: “Lenovo has the most powerful and comprehensive solution for the Education sector and we are committed to empower students, across the world, with the latest innovations. We are proud to partner with the American University School and we commend them for their forward vision and their honorable mission to provide students with state of the art technology in order to excel in education.”
